How to choose bedroom wall decals

Start with the wall you want to decorate and the amount of empty space around the furniture. Popular placements include above the bed, beside a dressing table, near a reading corner and on a clear feature wall.

Above the bed: choose a wide design that relates visually to the headboard.
Small wall or corner: use a compact quote, botanical element or single illustration.
Large feature wall: choose a larger composition or combine compatible elements with enough spacing.
Personalized bedroom: consider a custom name, phrase or design made for the available area.

What surfaces work best?

Wall stickers generally apply best to clean, dry, smooth and firmly painted surfaces. Dust, grease, fresh paint, loose paint and pronounced texture can reduce adhesion. Allow newly painted walls to cure fully according to the paint manufacturer’s instructions, and test a small area when the surface is uncertain.

Material, finish, application method and removal characteristics can vary between products. Check the selected product page before ordering, especially for textured walls, furniture, glass or other non-standard surfaces.

Bedroom wall decals compared with other wall decor

Option	Best for	Installation	Coverage
Wall decals	Quotes, silhouettes and decorative focal points	Applied directly to a suitable surface	Selected areas of the wall
Framed art	Movable pictures and prints	Usually requires hooks or fixings	Limited to the frame size
Wallpaper	A full accent wall or room transformation	More preparation and installation work	Large or complete wall coverage
Paint	Changing the overall wall colour	Surface preparation, painting and drying	Complete wall coverage

How to select the right size

Measure the usable width and height of the wall.
Mark the proposed decal area with removable painter’s tape.
Check the composition from the main viewing point in the room.
Confirm the dimensions shown on the product page before choosing a size.

For a design above a bed, measure against the furniture rather than the entire wall. Leave visible space around the decal so the composition does not feel crowded.

How to apply a bedroom wall sticker

Read the instructions supplied with the selected product.
Clean the surface and allow it to dry completely.
Position the design before removing the backing.
Apply gradually and smooth from the centre outward.
For multi-part designs, arrange all pieces before fixing them permanently.

Bedroom wall decal FAQ

Can wall decals be placed above a bed?

Yes, provided the wall is suitable and the design is installed securely according to its instructions. Measure the space between the headboard and ceiling before selecting the size.

Do bedroom wall stickers work on textured walls?

Pronounced texture can reduce the contact area of the adhesive. Results depend on the texture and product, so a smooth surface is the safer choice unless the product page states otherwise.

Can I apply a wall decal to freshly painted walls?

Wait until the paint has fully cured, not merely dried to the touch. Follow the curing time specified by the paint manufacturer.

Are all bedroom decals removable or reusable?

No single claim applies to every product in the collection. Removal and reuse depend on the material, adhesive, wall condition and installation time. Check the individual product description.

What bedroom decal size should I choose?

Use the dimensions listed on the product page and mark that area on the wall with painter’s tape. This gives a more reliable visual guide than choosing only from a size name such as small or large.
